How To Win at Life

How To Win at Life

[Excerpt from Empowered by Nicolette Brink]

Think of you and everyone else like grains of sand or sugar being sifted. The sifter is this thing called life and at times it appears to stand still and life is easy. At other times the sifter/life sways gently allowing you to tread easily and then on occasion it suddenly jerks or drops knocking you off your feet. Only those who are willing to grow, adjust and build themselves can avoid falling through the holes in the sieve.

The one who wins in life and gets what they want (in other words is living life how they want to be living it) is the one who continues on regardless of what life is doing around them or to them. The one who believes and continues to believe that they are worthy of being who they want to be and having what they want to have is the one who wins and remains standing. Long after doubt, fear, insecurities, and faith have chiseled away at everyone else, the winner is the one who learns how to grab hold of life, grin, and say not today.

The key is to build within you a belief so strong that it will outlast that of everyone around you. Many are weak mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or physically. Most are weak in multiple areas. The one who wins has built mind, body, and spirit to that of strength that is flexible, confidence yet remains humble, courageous and capable, a risk taker who is yet a detailed and driven planner.

You remain standing tall and strong (and flexible) when you have built yourself the character and ability to remain standing tall and strong. This comes with hard work, practice, focus, discipline and belief.

This is why so few truly win at life.  This is why so few truly have found great health, solid wealth (financial independence), maintain healthy relationships, and have careers they love.

People get antsy and worked up over things that are trivial. Folks declare they must conquer an aspect of their life, only to forget the importance of balance, and find themselves going from one end of the spectrum to the other – neither which is good or creates that inner strength and resilience that assists one in easily maneuvering about life.

Balance is something that truly isn’t easily achieved and am still working on this myself almost 38 years into my own life. But still agree it helps to achieve certain successes if you can be more balanced on a daily basis.

This is a powerful post! So many times we can not control what happens in our life but we can control how we react to it. This sums it all up, “the winner is the one who learns how to grab hold of life, grin, and say not today.” I am going to make a note of this Thanks so much for sharing!
