I actually just wrote about this recently while working on one of my books, the fact that break through arrives (not to mention total relief) just after the struggle. I’m not talking about the easy peasy struggles when you are first getting started. (Ignore me there – because getting started sometimes can be fricking hard.)
I’m talking about when you’re back has already been against the wall a few times, and you’ve been up until midnight countless nights working your arse off to make things happen for years on end (haha, no not weeks or months. I mean years.)
I’m not talking about when you still have a chance to just up and quit either. (There gets to be a point in which you cannot return, quit, go back to life before. You’ve put in too much time and resources. Only option is to make it. Somehow.)
I’m talking about when you have been doing everything you can, to the best of your ability, whole heartedly giving everything you are to your goal/dream, and stuff is still hitting the fan left and right and you honest to goodness have no idea of the ‘how’ a miracle will happen or when it will (like months ago would have been fantastic).
I’m talking about when it is literally almost so unbearable that you are laughing at yourself and the universe and you just want to say, “Try me!” but you don’t because you understand you are energy and what you send out comes back in like form. So you just bite your tongue, try not to cry because your eyes are already burning from lack of sleep, and you just do.
You just keep going. You don’t have any other alternative but to show up every day, doing your best to do what you are doing better, knowing that you must be getting dang close to that wonderful break through.
Yea, most people quit at the very first hint of challenge, which is why most people don’t achieve their goals. Of the few who can gut it out for a bit – most of them quit before they cross that point of no return.
The people who make it, who actually really, truly, honestly make it –
They know it requires going through the trenches. Sometimes nonstop, sometimes the same dang trenches you already went though.
Anyhow, as of time of writing things I literally am going trough this phase of making big dreams a reality. I’ve been there before, going through it now and things might get a little more insane before that break through arrives.
I can tell you this – as long as you keep showing up every day, as long as you are focused on learning, growing, improving and putting in the best effort you can, you will get there.
And the more times you strive after big goals, the easier the process itself gets. It’s not any more fun, or less challenging, but you know the process works and you know the victory is near so you just keep going.
Where ever you are today, in your journey, keep that chin up. The things in life worth striving for, the things you want to last and enjoy the benefits of for a long time, they all come with time, patience and resiliency.
Stick with it.
Don’t let anyone, or anything or circumstance coerce you into quitting. Sometimes life requires us to slow our pace a bit while we focus on a more immediate matter, but stay the course and keep your eye on the prize.
Life is what we decide to make it be. Each and every day make progress. On yourself and towards your goals.
